Cascada Thermal Springs & Hotel: Portland's New Wellness Haven Merges Hospitality with Healing

Portland, Oregon’s Alberta Arts District has welcomed a distinctive new addition to its vibrant landscape: Cascada Thermal Springs + Hotel. This innovative wellness-focused hospitality concept, founded by a trio of experienced professionals – Brian Heather, Finnian Kelly, and Marc Coluccio – aims to redefine the very essence of well-being by seamlessly integrating hospitality with profound healing experiences.

Brian Heather, the visionary behind SolTerra, a prominent sustainable building developer, brings his expertise in eco-conscious construction to the project. He is joined by Finnian Kelly, an entrepreneur dedicated to the principles of intentional living, and Marc Coluccio, whose diverse background spans consumer brands, technology, and real estate. Together, this formidable team has embarked on a mission to create a sanctuary where guests can immerse themselves in a holistic approach to health and rejuvenation.

A Sanctuary for Movement and Thermal Healing

Cascada’s philosophy centers on offering a comprehensive suite of services designed to nurture mind, body, and spirit. Guests can anticipate a curated selection of movement classes, restorative thermal bathing, and opportunities for intentional connection. The heart of the Cascada experience lies within its 100-room hotel, which features a state-of-the-art thermal spa.

This expansive spa is equipped with five meticulously designed underground pools, a traditional hammam-inspired steam room, and a soothing dry sauna. Complementing these thermal experiences are dedicated movement studios and serene treatment rooms, offering a range of therapeutic modalities. Culinary delights are provided by Terra Mae, a unique restaurant that artfully fuses Portuguese and Japanese flavors, alongside an accessible all-day café.

The Conservatory: An Indoor Tropical Oasis

Adding to the hotel’s allure is The Conservatory, an enchanting indoor oasis designed to transport guests to a tropical paradise. This unique space boasts an 82-degree tropical-inspired swimming pool, a striking 25-foot living wall that breathes life into the environment, and a rich collection of diverse flora. The Conservatory offers a tranquil escape, perfect for relaxation and mindful immersion.

Sustainable Design Meets Natural Luxury

In alignment with its founders’ commitment to holistic well-being, Cascada’s design ethos is deeply rooted in sustainability. The hotel consciously utilizes non-toxic finishes throughout its construction, including natural plaster and clay, alongside custom-welded railings. To further minimize environmental impact and enhance air quality, interior paint has been used sparingly, and guestrooms feature naturally flame-resistant wool fabrics.

The commitment to purity extends to Cascada’s food and beverage program. The culinary offerings deliberately avoid preservatives, seed oils, and thickeners, prioritizing fresh, high-quality ingredients to nourish guests from the inside out.

Cascada Thermal Springs + Hotel invites guests to embark on a personalized journey toward wellness. By providing a flexible and immersive environment, the establishment empowers individuals to curate their own unique experience, fostering a deeper connection with themselves and the restorative power of the hotel and spa amenities. The founders’ vision is to establish Cascada not merely as a place to stay, but as a destination for profound personal transformation and well-being.
